Grape Disease Pressure Ratings
WIN and others are working on specific grape disease models to help guide growers in their fungicide spray decisions. Until these multiple disease models are completed and suitable for grape growers, WIN is pleased to offer "Grape Disease Pressure Rating" maps on a daily basis. These Disease Pressure values range on a scale of 0 to 7, where a value of 0 indicates little disease pressure, and 7 indicates heavy disease pressure. This information will give growers a sense of the year, in terms of it being more or less favourable to grape diseases; and adjust their spray schedule accordingly.
This model does not predict the occurrence or emergence of downy mildew, powdery mildew, botrytis or other specific diseases. This model is a measure of disease pressure. This disease pressure indication is used to compare and identify the pressure, over various periods of time and geographic regions.
Accumulated Disease Pressure Values as well as Disease Pressure Graphs may be found at the NAWN Network Weather Data Access link (found at the top, left-hand side of this page).
