Partnership Program
Weather Innovations partners with several organizations, research groups, government agencies and businesses to bring together weather information from across the province and beyond. In order to become a WIN partner, all that is needed is for you to own one or more automated weather stations and provide access to the data you collect. WIN has several different partner arrangements.
A partner with only a single station or just a few stations is usually a non-government organization (NGO) or private business. WIN has experience with a variety of makes of weather stations, instruments and data loggers and can provide technical assistance where necessary. This assistance may be in the form of installation, calibration, maintenance or other.
Other partners, typically government organizations, have more extensive networks and collaborate with WIN by providing data for modelling purposes. WIN often has some form of reciprocal agreement with these organizations.
Many NGOs and businesses have requested that WIN not publish their contact information because they have installed stations for specific purposes and do not wish to be contacted with data requests. Several government organizations do allow WIN to repackage information for commercial and model use.
